Klein Corpse, Mirror, and Hui Hui are three new German designer labels now carried at Weltenbuerger. With the 1500 square foot space, the store plans to carry more contemporary designer pieces from overseas highlighting the  name of the store itself. For those of you who didn’t know, Weltenbuerger means world citizen.

Here’s a little history on a couple of the German labels:

[Klein Corpse] -

Desiree Klein, designer for Klein Corpse, started off with a background in Product Design. After moving to Berlin from Amsterdam, Klein started her women’s line Klein Corpse and quickly gained the necessary attention to move forward and collaborate with different labels and artists. They include Absolut Vodka, Canadian musicians Mocky, Peaches and Leslie Feist. These musicians are proud to wear her designs on and off stage.

[Mirror] -

Desiree Klein also designed for Mirror with partner Ingrid Junker. Junker studied at London’s St Martins College. Her Men’s wear label Double brings an artistic and creative lifestyle to clothing and shows a refined balance between wear ability and experimental edge. Klein and Junker decided to collaborate to push their idea of creative interaction and exchange even further. In order to show their work in a context that reflects their work in a more personal context they organized an independent multi label showroom during Paris Fall/ Winter 2008 Men’s wear Shows and Berlin Fashion week under the name of Telegram, where they presented the first Mirror Men’s wear collection.

HUI HUI

Besides carrying designers from overseas, Weltenbuerger being LA based, likes to represent LA just as much. THVM Atelier formerly known as THEM Atelier produces the same jeans for both men and women catering to the different fits. THVM specializes in jeans designed to fit well and have a look of “natural wear” instead of “the artifice of manufactured distress,” said Brian Kim, who founded the label in late 2009 with Olga Nazarova. Their approach to their line is to create and construct with other artists making the process more artistic and personable, therefore, an outcome reflecting creative passion in a  world of mass production. Along side jeans, THVM also manufactures men’s and women’s shirts made of distressed and dyed fabrics.

As much as Weltenbuerger wants to let everyone know about the new designer pieces, lets not forget about our carefully selected vintage pieces from the past that redefine the future.
