Party with Klaus

As a fan of past and futuristic fashion and music, I recently stumbled upon this clip of Klaus Nomi performing on the late cable access TV show, TV Party. For those of you who don’t know about Klaus Nomi, he was a German opera singer who was heavily involved in the underground New York art scene in the late 70’s and early 80’s. He performed with such artists as Jean-Michel Basquiat, David Bowie, Keith Haring, plus some others. His career was cut short when he died of AIDS in 1983 at the age of 39. Art figures such as Nomi have influenced fashion and music today and still to come.
